Operated by an individual doing business as SecureRing, located in California.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and SecureRing. Please read them carefully before using the SecureRing application.
These Terms are accompanied by the SecureRing Privacy Policy, which describes SecureRing's privacy and data-processing practices.
SecureRing is a supplemental verification and safety aid. Verification results, AI assessments, alerts, training content, and Community Reports should not be treated as guarantees that a person, communication, request, or transaction is legitimate or safe.
By accessing or using SecureRing after being presented with these Terms, you acknowledge that you have read and understood them and agree to be bound by them. Where the application presents an affirmative acceptance mechanism, such as an "I Accept" button, acceptance through that mechanism constitutes agreement to these Terms.
These Terms are a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and the individual doing business as SecureRing ("SecureRing," "we," "us," or "our").
Acceptance occurs upon the earliest of:
Use by children under 13 is prohibited.
Use by minors aged 13–17 requires express parental or guardian consent. The parent or guardian agrees to these Terms on behalf of the minor and is responsible for the minor's use of the application to the extent permitted by law.
If you use SecureRing on behalf of an entity, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms on that entity's behalf.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device, account credentials, and information displayed by the application, including verification codes and Safe Words.
SecureRing is a consumer application designed primarily for personal and family use.
Features may include:
Feature availability may vary by platform, subscription tier, jurisdiction, and product version.
SecureRing may add, modify, suspend, or discontinue features.
SecureRing is a supplemental verification and safety aid only.
It is not:
SecureRing makes no representation or warranty that use of the application will prevent fraud, scams, financial loss, physical harm, emotional distress, identity theft, elder abuse, or any other harm.
SecureRing does not provide legal, financial, medical, security, law-enforcement, or emergency-response advice.
Cryptographic verification confirms only that the applicable verification process was completed using a device and cryptographic key associated with the relevant SecureRing membership.
It does not independently verify:
Rotating Safe Words are generated from shared cryptographic material and are intended to be compared aloud between authorized members.
Safe Words are an additional signal intended to assist human judgment.
Their usefulness may be defeated if:
SecureRing does not determine whether a Safe Word was exchanged authentically.
Where available, Prove It is a user-initiated liveness challenge intended to provide an additional verification signal.
It is not an automated determination of legal identity or authenticity and does not establish that the person appearing in a call is the person they claim to be.
Users remain responsible for independent judgment.
When you submit a suspicious message, screenshot, spoken description, or other supported content to AI Scam Check, the submitted content is transmitted to SecureRing's backend and processed by an automated AI model operated by a third-party provider, currently Anthropic, PBC, using a Claude model.
The model produces an automated risk assessment and explanatory information that the application displays to you.
You understand that:
As currently offered, the Free plan includes up to 3 AI Scam Checks per month, and Premium includes up to 60 AI Scam Checks per month. SecureRing may change feature quotas subject to applicable law and applicable subscription requirements.
You should not submit passwords, authentication codes, payment-card numbers, government identification numbers, or other sensitive credentials to Scam Check.
You remain responsible for the content you choose to submit.
Advances in AI, including voice synthesis, deepfake audio and video, and generative communications, may allow malicious actors to impersonate individuals convincingly.
SecureRing's verification technology confirms device-key possession only. It does not independently determine whether audio or video content is authentic or whether a person is who they claim to be.
SecureRing makes no warranty that its features will detect AI-generated, synthetic, manipulated, or deepfake communications.
Users remain responsible for exercising independent judgment regardless of verification status.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, SecureRing disclaims liability for harm arising from AI-generated, synthetic, manipulated, or deepfake communications received through or in connection with the application.
SecureRing allows users to submit reports describing scams or suspicious communications.
You are responsible for the User Reports you submit.
You represent that, to the best of your knowledge:
You should avoid submitting another person's sensitive personal information unless reasonably necessary to describe the reported scam or communication.
You must not knowingly submit passwords, authentication codes, payment-card numbers, government identification numbers, or other highly sensitive credentials.
By submitting a User Report, you grant SecureRing a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to host, store, reproduce, adapt, redact, truncate, and publish the report's content within the application and related alert or scam-awareness feeds for purposes of operating, moderating, securing, improving, and displaying the Community Reports feature and related scam-awareness services.
This license does not transfer ownership of your content.
User Reports are reviewed before publication.
SecureRing may approve, edit, redact, decline to publish, or remove a User Report at its discretion.
No report is guaranteed to be published.
Published reports may have identifying information removed, including credential-like information and full phone numbers. An area code may be retained where appropriate.
The identity of the reporter is not published.
Community Reports represent information submitted by users and are not necessarily independently verified by SecureRing.
Publication does not establish that the reported activity is fraudulent in every circumstance.
The absence of a Community Report does not mean a communication is safe.
Where available, the My Reports feature may display the moderation status of your own submissions.
You agree not to use SecureRing:
SecureRing may impose rate limits, quotas, and usage caps and may vary them by subscription tier.
SecureRing is not a monitored emergency-response service.
SecureRing does not contact law enforcement, emergency medical services, or emergency responders on your behalf.
Safety alerts and circle notifications are delivered only to designated circle members and depend on recipient availability, device connectivity, notification permissions, and third-party infrastructure.
SecureRing is not responsible, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, for:

THE APPLICATION IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, OR UNINTERRUPTED AVAILABILITY.
SecureRing does not warrant that the application will be error-free, secure, free from vulnerabilities, free from data loss, or free from unauthorized access.
Features depending on third-party services, including LiveKit, AI providers, push-notification infrastructure, cloud infrastructure, hosting, telecommunications, and app-store systems, may experience outages, interruptions, or changes outside SecureRing's control.
SecureRing is not responsible for third-party service failures except to the extent responsibility cannot lawfully be excluded.
SecureRing is not responsible for failure or delay caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, civil unrest, government action, telecommunications failures, power outages, or cyberattacks.
SecureRing's Privacy Policy describes its privacy and data-processing practices, including the categories of information collected, use and retention, third-party service providers, AI processing, Community Reports, and applicable privacy rights.
The Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
If there is a conflict concerning your contractual rights and obligations, these Terms control.
The Privacy Policy controls with respect to the description of SecureRing's privacy and data-processing practices.
Premium features may be offered through subscriptions.
By purchasing a subscription, you authorize the applicable app store to charge the selected payment method according to the subscription terms presented at purchase.
Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled in accordance with the applicable app-store requirements and subscription terms.
The applicable app store may charge the payment method before the beginning of the next subscription period as permitted by its rules.
You may manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID or Google Play account settings, as applicable.
SecureRing does not directly process payment-card information.
Billing and refunds are handled through the applicable app store, subject to its policies and applicable law.
Except where required by law or app-store policy, subscription payments are non-refundable and unused portions of subscription periods generally do not receive credits.
SecureRing may change subscription prices subject to applicable law and app-store requirements. Where notice is required, notice will be provided before the change takes effect.
Where a subscription covers circle members who do not separately subscribe, those members may receive the circle's core features without purchasing their own subscription. Premium capabilities are determined by the subscription and feature rules displayed in the application.
The SecureRing application, software, design, text, graphics, logos, and other SecureRing-created content, excluding User Reports and other user-submitted content, are owned by SecureRing or its licensors.
SecureRing grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the application on devices you own or control for permitted personal use.
Public-source alert information may include material originating from government agencies or other public sources. Original sources remain authoritative.

with the subject line "Copyright Complaint."
Your notice should identify the copyrighted work, the allegedly infringing material, your contact information, and a statement of good-faith belief that the use is unauthorized.
SecureRing may review and remove or restrict access to content where appropriate.
SecureRing may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to the application to the extent permitted by applicable law, including for:
SecureRing uses account, member, device, and circle identifiers in different portions of the service. Suspension or termination may therefore be implemented through restrictions on account, member, circle, device, or API access.
Such restrictions may prevent creation of new circles or participation in existing circles.
Upon termination, your right to use SecureRing ends.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including Sections 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 13, 14, 15, 16, and 22, survive termination.
You may stop using SecureRing at any time and may delete your account where the applicable functionality is available.
Termination does not automatically entitle you to a refund, subject to applicable law and app-store policies.
By using SecureRing, you understand and voluntarily assume the ordinary risks associated with using a consumer communications and verification service, including risks arising from:
Nothing in this Section eliminates liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SECURERING AND ITS OPERATOR, AGENTS, AFFILIATES, LICENSORS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS (COLLECTIVELY, THE "SECURERING PARTIES") SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF FUNDS, DATA, PROFITS, GOODWILL, PERSONAL INJURY, OR EMOTIONAL DISTRESS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF, INABILITY TO USE, OR RELIANCE UPON THE APPLICATION, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE AGGREGATE LIABILITY OF THE SECURERING PARTIES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE APPLICATION OR THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF:
(A) THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID TO SECURERING DURING THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM; OR
(B) FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS (US $50).
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud or willful misconduct, gross negligence causing personal injury, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law, including California Civil Code Section 1668.
These limitations apply regardless of the legal theory of the claim, including contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or statute, to the extent permitted by law.
Where applicable law does not permit a particular limitation, that limitation applies only to the maximum extent permitted by law.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the SecureRing Parties from third-party claims, damages, liabilities, and reasonable expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from:
This obligation does not apply to the extent a claim results from SecureRing's negligence, willful misconduct, or other conduct that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
This obligation survives termination.
Before initiating arbitration, you must first send a written Notice of Dispute to:
The notice should describe the dispute, relevant facts, and relief sought.
SecureRing will have 30 days to attempt to resolve the dispute informally.
Neither party may commence arbitration during this period.
If the dispute is not resolved during the informal-resolution period, any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or SecureRing will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by JAMS under its applicable rules.
Either party may seek appropriate injunctive or equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction for infringement of intellectual-property rights or unauthorized disclosure of confidential information.
Either party may bring an individual claim in a competent small-claims court instead of arbitration if the claim qualifies for that court and is brought on an individual basis.
Nothing in this Section prevents a government agency from pursuing an action in its official capacity.
You may opt out of the arbitration agreement by emailing:
within 30 days after the first date you accept these Terms.
Use the subject line "Arbitration Opt-Out" and state your name and that you wish to opt out of arbitration.
An arbitration opt-out applies only to the person submitting the opt-out and does not affect other users.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, YOU AND SECURERING EACH WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO BRING OR PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS, COLLECTIVE, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION.
Disputes must be brought only in the parties' individual capacities, except where applicable law prohibits this waiver.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, YOU AND SECURERING EACH WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO A TRIAL BY JURY IN AN ACTION ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR SECURERING.
These Terms are governed by California law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
The seat of arbitration is Los Angeles, California, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
Nothing in this Section limits non-waivable rights or remedies available under applicable consumer-protection laws.
These Terms are between you and SecureRing and not Apple Inc. or Google LLC.
SecureRing, not the applicable platform provider, is responsible for the SecureRing application and its content.
Your license to use SecureRing is subject to applicable platform rules.
The platform providers have no obligation to provide maintenance or support for SecureRing.
Where applicable, if the application fails to conform to a required warranty, the applicable platform provider may have refund obligations under its applicable rules.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the platform providers have no additional warranty obligations concerning SecureRing.
The platform providers are not responsible for SecureRing product claims or for the investigation, defense, or settlement of third-party intellectual-property claims relating to SecureRing.

If a provision is found invalid or unenforceable, it will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions remain in effect.
